Cynthia Henebry

Cynthia Henebry (b. 1973) is a Richmond-based photographer whose images explore contemporary family life, often presenting a child's perspective. Exhibitions of her work include the National Portrait Gallery (Washington, DC); the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (Richmond, VA); Sweet Briar College (Sweet Briar, VA); the Houston Center for Photography; the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art (Kansas City); Page Bond Gallery (Richmond, VA); and the Tacoma Art Museum (Tacoma, WA), to name a few. Henebry's work is collected by Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (Richmond, VA); Capitol One (Richmond, VA), and numerous private collections. She completed her MFA in Photography/Film from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2014. Her poetry collections include The Recovery House and The Abundance is Staggering in Flowerland. Both are self published by Itasca Books under Deaf Shell Press.
