Marilyn Suriani
Marilyn Suriani is a fine art and documentary photographer based in Georgia whose photographic career spans more than 40 years. Projects of hers include documenting the lives of incarcerated women, exotic dancers, and small urban congregations. Suriani has also turned the camera on herself in Self Portrait, a series used to examine her life as a woman after the age of 60. Suriani’s photographs have been exhibited in venues across the United States and internationally, and were acquired for the permanent collections of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia (Atlanta) and the High Museum of Art (Atlanta).
Other testaments to her artistic talents include her selection as an artist in residence at the L’Ecole Nationale de la Photographie in Arles, France and the publication of her work in Photo Vogue, Black and White, Camera Arts, Zeit, Moda, Behind the Shutter, and Codaworx.
