William K. Greiner

William Greiner (b. 1957) is an artist residing in Santa Fe NM, originating from New Orleans. Early artistic influences in Greiner's life include renowned color photographer William Eggleston, whom he was introduced to through a mutual friend, and Jim Dow, with whom he studied in Boston. Greiner is the author of over a dozen different photo projects, three of which—The Reposed (1999), SHOW & TELL (2013) and NEUTRAL GROUND - New Orleans 1990-2005 (2025)—were published as monographs.

He is the recipient of a 2004 Louisiana Endowment for the Arts fellowship. His work can be found in more than 60 public art collections, including the Museum of Modern Art (New York); the Art Institute of Chicago; the J. Paul Getty Museum (Los Angeles); and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

Greiner has in recent years expanded his practice to painting, collage, assemblage, and printmaking.
