Carolyn Drake
Carolyn Drake (b. 1971) was born in California, grew up in Maryland, and studied Media/Culture and History in at Brown University in the early 1990s. She made a living working on interactive publishing projects in New York for many years before departing to engage with the world through photography in 2003. Drake’s work has been supported by a Guggenheim fellowship, the Peter S. Reed Foundation, a Fulbright fellowship, and the Henri Cartier Bresson Award, among others. Her work has recently exhibited at SFMOMA, Yancey Richardson Gallery, and the Henri Cartier Bresson Foundation. A member of Magnum Photos, she has authored five photo books.
