Debbie Fleming Caffery

Debbie Fleming Caffery (b. 1948) is a photographer best known for her work made in and about her native Louisiana. Caffery's work has been acquired by dozens of permanent and private collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York), the Museum of Modern Art (New York); the Whitney Museum of American Art (New York); the Smithsonian National Museum of American History (Washington, DC); the Houston Museum of Fine Arts; the Center for Creative Photography (Tucson, AZ); the Boston Museum of Fine Arts; and the Maison Europeene de la Photographie (Paris). Caffery is the recipient of numerous awards, including a Guggenheim Fellowship, the Lou Stoumen Award from the Museum of Photographic Arts in San Diego, and the Michael P. Smith Documentary Photography Award.
