Sophie Lvoff
Sophie Lvoff (b. 1986) is a photographer and curator who splits her time between New York and Lyon, France. She has been recognized for her vibrant photographic observations of a post-Katrina New Orleans with her project Hell’s Bells/Sulfur/Honey where, she says, she’s drawn to locations that allow her to feel something “ethereal and tangible.” In 2019, she completed a post-diploma program at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Lyon, during which time she worked on other photographic projects. Lvoff's work has been published in Artforum, The Guardian, and The New York Times and is part of the collections of The Ogden Museum of Southern Art (New Orleans); The New Orleans Museum of Art; the Musée de l’Elysée (Lausanne, Switzerland), and more.
