Rosalind Fox Solomon

Rosalind Fox Solomon (b. 1930) is an artist based in New York City. Throughout her career, Fox Solomon has gravitated towards portraying “human suffering, ritural, survival, and struggle.” Her primary mode of creation is photography, though she has also created installation and video performance pieces.

Fox Solomon has produced five monographs and is the recipient of numerous accolades, including a Lifetime Achievement Award by the International Center of Photography; the Ray and Abraham Gottlieb Fellowship; and a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship. Her work has been shown in nearly 30 solo exhibitions, 100 group exhibitions, and is held in the collections of more than 50 museums around the world.
